Our Story

Foundations of Mastery: Converting Years of Practice into a Legacy of Leadership

Founded in 2024, ATS.Co Handling was born of a clear ambition: to help transform and raise the standards of ground handling in Algeria.

Based at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers and built around an experienced team drawn from airport operations, ATS.Co has chosen to combine local expertise, operational excellence and international standards in order to meet the growing requirements of the airlines operating in Algeria.

Behind this ambition stands Cpt Farid Boudjema, founder and Chairman of ATS.Co, with more than 40 years of experience in the aviation industry. An airline pilot, Dash 8 Q400 captain, SFI (Synthetic Flight Instructor) and former Director of Flight Operations for an airline, he has worked across a wide range of operational, technical and managerial environments, both in Algeria and internationally.

That experience led him to identify the need for an Algerian ground handling company capable of combining in-depth knowledge of the local environment with operational rigour, safety, service quality and the level of performance expected by international carriers.

Alongside him, Cpt Joannic Vaysse, co-founder and Airbus A320 captain, brings complementary experience particularly well suited to the handling business. Before moving to the flight deck, he began his career as a traffic agent and then station supervisor, giving him first-hand knowledge of ground operations, turnaround coordination and the daily constraints of running a station.

His international career, including more than ten years spent in Asia with Cathay Dragon and Jetstar Asia, also gives him a thorough understanding of the operational, regulatory and quality requirements of international airlines.

Cpt Farid Boudjema and Cpt Joannic Vaysse work together to build a demanding culture of quality, compliance and training, notably through Groupe BJV, a QUALIOPI-certified organisation based in Lyon, France. This shared experience allows them to bring to ATS.Co proven methods in professional training, procedure standardisation, quality monitoring and continuous improvement.

Their expertise also extends to the design and drafting of operational documentation for air transport operators, including GOM (Ground Operations Manual) and OM-A (Operations Manual – Part A), as well as to training in aviation and drone piloting.

The complementary backgrounds of Cpt Farid Boudjema and Cpt Joannic Vaysse are one of the foundations of ATS.Co: on one side, more than four decades of aviation experience, operational management and knowledge of the Algerian environment; on the other, an international career combining ground operations, flying, quality, compliance and training.

This complementarity allows ATS.Co to develop an approach in which local operational realities are matched with the best practices of international air transport.

ATS.Co Handling therefore carries the ambition of building a modern, reliable and high-performing ground handling operator in Algeria – deeply rooted in its national environment while meeting the standards and expectations of the world's major airlines.
